The charge controller is essential to protect the battery from overcharging and short current flow when fully charged.
Accepts input from battery when the voltage is between the parameters determined, usually 10 or 11 to 14, 5 VDC, if the battery pack voltage is 12 volts.

Some charge controllers are "smart" and automatically detect if the battery bank voltage is 12, 24 or 48 volts, enabling you to switch to battery power only when tensions are nearby.
Some controllers allow other functions:
- Protect the battery from deep discharge, which would shorten its life, so that power supply cables pass through the charge controller.
- Charging status indicator, in %, on LCD screen.
- Manage, as a timekeeper, on and off a line of lighting, according to a schedule or the intensity of sunlight.
- Information on the amount of energy produced and accumulated in a given period, the current consumption, the consumption made from installation to date, etc.
- Audible alarms to warn of the state of charge.
- Several times, ability to connect to the computer, etc.
- There are charge controllers with different prices and capabilities, the most simple basic functions of 12 V and 4 or 5 amperes, even the most sophisticated of 60 V, 12/24, 48 amps.

WELLSEE charge controllers have a very good quality for the price. If you need a charge controller should talk to me.
